Frequently Asked Questions
Have you photographed LGBTQ+ Weddings?
We’re awkward being photographed, is that ok?
ABSOLUTELY! Some of my most memorable weddings have been same-sex marriages, and I feel honored and proud to support this community.
Almost all of my couple’s have never had professional photographs made before. Being in front of the camera at first can give you the butterflies, but I promise, I’ve got tricks up my sleeve to make you feel 100% at ease and to draw out your playful side.
What is your shooting style?
Can I upgrade my package after booking?
On a wedding day I take a photojournalistic approach to shooting. It’s a go-with-the-flow feeling, as you can’t fight things that are out of your control, like the weather, or someone running late. If the groomsmen are getting ready and can’t find the glasses for the toast they wanted to have, but they’re about to eat lunch and a groomsman came back with boxes of chicken nuggets… You better believe we’re cheers’ing with those nuggets! The romantic portrait session is the time that I really take over again and get creative with portraiture.
Yes! You can book me to photograph your wedding and then as you finalize details, you can always add on a second shooter or an album to your package. Of course, the sooner I know you’d like a second shooter, the more likely it is that one of my preferred colleagues will be available.
What is your editing style?
Do you also edit images as B&W?
I love color photographs that are sharp and bright but also have rich blacks. I think it’s important that the gallery is cohesive and looks like it tells the story of the day. I conceptualize each gallery for what best suits that story, and then edit all the images accordingly. I want photos that look timeless and will age with grace. I also shoot receptions with off camera flash, so my images aren’t bright and blown out. But rather, they look like evening and are more effective for storytelling.
I love looking at color images online, but I’ve found that I prefer B&W prints for my home decor, so I include your entire gallery edited in B&W as well (which isn’t as simple as just adding a filter, btw!).
How many photographs can we expect?
How do we receive our photos?
This absolutely depends on several things: the size of the wedding party and wedding guest list, the length of the event, whether there will be a first look (those always get more pictures!), etc. I guarantee to deliver at least 50 images an hour to all my couples, and I don’t put a cap on the amount of pictures I deliver. When you look through your final gallery you should love what you see with flattering poses, and not feel like there are things missing. It’s my goal to find that perfect balance between quantity and quality.
The images are delivered via a password protected gallery, and you can share it with family and friends that are near and far. Your friends can even show their love for favorites! You can download your pictures to print at the location of your choosing… or if you’d like to print from your website it’ll send me a quick email to let me know you want a BIG print and I can see if there should be any adjustments made before you hang it in your home. In other words, I’m not here to simply shoot your wedding and be done, you’re stuck with me and I’m always here to help!
