Julia & I had been in touch prior to her & Peter’s engagement session. We’d swapped ideas & inspiration
over the course of several months, & it was easy to forget that I hadn’t actually ever met them.
We devised a plan to meet in a parking lot, pile into my boxy car & head to our destination.
We drove down country roads, over a river, with no cell service, & relied only
on memory & luck to get us where we needed to go. We shared stories about our trips to Italy
& Julia showed me her handmade floral crown. It was like being reunited with old friends.
The rain the night before had left us with muddy trails but vibrant colors all around.
Julia & Peter stood in cold waters, dodged mosquitos, all the while finding
something to laugh about. We found fairytale ferns, and Peter caught a frog.
And if the day couldn’t get any better, we finished it with a well deserved late barbecue lunch.
These are two amazing and adventurous souls, thank you for making this day so awesome.
